TECHNOLAM today

• Distribution centre with customised services for laminates and prepregs
• 20 high-bay storage systems for approx. 600,000 sq m of laminates
• 2 cold storage facilities totalling some 400,000 sq m of storage area for prepregs 
• Automated processing lines for cutting rigid laminates and thin core laminates
• Delivery of 12 million sq m of laminates and prepregs tailored to customer specifications each year

TECHNOLAM over the years

• 1994 – Founded by Günther Fuchs and starts cooperating with NAN YA on distribution in Germany
• 1995 – Sets up central warehouse in Hamburg; panels cut to size at a partner company in France
• 1996 – Experiences strong and sustained growth and relocates to larger facilities in Troisdorf
• 1997 – Expands distribution to Austria
• 1998 – Starts distributing multilayer laminates and prepregs; now has four regional warehouses
• 1999 – Builds TECHNOLAM Distribution Centre for NAN YA laminates and prepregs with facilities for customised services
• 2000 – Starts up operations at the distribution centre in Troisdorf
• 2001 – Shifts all cutting operations to the new location; now has only one central warehouse; expands distribution to Eastern Europe and Russia; establishes a bonded warehouse; sets up the quality management system
• 2002 – Erects a second warehouse with an additional 920 high-bay pallet storage slots; accelerates expansion in thin core laminates and prepregs
• 2003 – Expands its range of offerings to include halogen-free and high Tg materials
• 2004 – Fine-tunes all processes throughout the company in response to robust growth
• 2006 – Purchases additional property to build a third warehouse featuring 880 high-bay pallet storage slots and another cold-storage facility for prepregs; now distributes NAN YA products in Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Eastern Europe and Russia
• 2007 – Adds additional drilling machine for boring reference holes in thin core laminates and registration holes in prepregs; installs dust extraction technology for prepreg cutting; expands inventory to include halogen-free and high Tg materials; receives ISO 9001 certification
• 2008 – Introduces logged thickness measuring of thin core laminates and laser coding of laminate panels
• 2009 – Fully implements a barcode and operating data logging system with WLAN infrastructure; puts into operation another station for the universal bevelling of 0.10 – 3.20 mm laminate thicknesses plus laser marking
• 2010 – Introduces a complex, customised ERP system; installs decentralised dust extraction technology
